Where To Watch A Sunrise On The Space Coast

Watch a sunrise from the beach or sunset from the river or lagoons, either way you’ll see a beautiful sights. The Space Coast paints beautiful colors in the sky each morning so don’t miss out on experiencing one. We’ve gathered a few of our favorite places so you know where to watch a sunrise on the Space Coast.

1.) Beach

This is a popular spot to visit in the early morning for many Floridians. Whether taking a jog, shelling, or surfing, a spectacular sunrise can be your background. Favorite spots include the Cocoa Beach Pier,Pelican Beach – Satellite BeachCanaveral National SeashoreDaytona Beach, and Ormond Beach.

2.) Parks

There are a ton of parks throughout the Space Coast where you can catch a sunrise. Some of our favorites include Kelly ParkSebastian’s Inlet State ParkIntracoastal Waterway ParkManatee Sanctuary Park, Mary McLeod Bethune Beach Park, and Andy Romano Beachfront Park.

3.) Rivers/Lagoons

We’re home to the beautiful rivers and lagoons like Indian River LagoonBanana River, and Mosquito Lagoon. You can see some amazing sunsets from these waters. Whether you’re in a boat, airboat, or kayak you won’t be disappointed. We also enjoy the Volusia estuary system.

4.) Port Canaveral

Catch an early morning sunrise at Port Canaveral where you’ll see a cruise ship in your backdrop. A great spot to catch one is at Jetty Park.

5.) Airplane

If you’re lucky enough to know someone who flies then you definitely need to take advantage of the sunrises you can see from above. We’re lucky to have a few airports surrounding us including, Orlando Melbourne International AirportNew Smyrna Airport, and Daytona International Airport. Some of these even offer helicopter rides. This gives people a unique way to see a beautiful Space Coast sunrise.

6.) Paddle board/Kayak

If you live on a canal it’s an easy trip to the water to drop your paddle board or kayak in. This is a peaceful way to paddle out on the water and watch a sunrise while capturing great photos. If not, many local companies offer kayak rentals and tours including Calypso Kayaking and Marine Discovery Center.
