How To Move Emails To Your Primary Inbox

Do you ever wonder where the emails are that you used to get, but don’t anymore? Whether it’s email updates from your financial institution or a favorite store, these emails often get flagged by your email provider. They can end up in “junk”, “other”, or “promotions” folders. If you would like to control which emails land in your primary folder, this Tuesday Tip is for you!

Gmail Users

Desktop
  • Click on the folder you’d like to move the email from.
  • Once in the folder, click and drag the email (a blue box will pop up that says, “Move Conversation.”
  • Drag it to your “Primary” inbox.
Mobile
  • Open the Gmail application on your web browser.
  • Once you’ve entered your inbox, click on the 3 lines in the upper left-hand corner.
  • Click on the folder you’d like to move the email from.
  • Click on the email then click on the downward arrow in the upper right- hand corner.
  • Click on the Move button located in the black box.
  • From here choose “Primary” folder.

Microsoft Users

Desktop
  • Click on your “Other Folder” tab.
  • Right click on the email you’d like to move.
  • A dropdown menu will appear and you can choose to move only this email to your “Focused” inbox or all emails from this sender to your “Focused” inbox.
Mobile
  • Open the Microsoft application on your web browser.
  • Click on the “Other” folder.
  • Click on the email you’d like to move.
  • Find and click the 3 dots on the right side next to the trash can icon.
  • Click Move to folder and choose “Inbox” folder.

Apple Users

Desktop
  • Click on the “Flagged” Folder.
  • Drag and drop into your “Inbox” folder.
Mobile
  • Navigate to the “Junk” folder.
  • Open the message you would like to move and tap the folder icon at the bottom.
  • Then choose to move to “Inbox” folder.
